Donald Bennett is a public servant committed to the community where he lives and invests. He is on a mission to maximize economic development for the people of Perry County.
His family roots in Perry County trace back to the late 1800’s. Both of his parents are from Marion, AL — Arthur and Mamie Bennett.
The Why…
Perry County has incredible potential. I’ve seen it firsthand through my work developing Vaiden Field, revitalizing downtown Marion, and building partnerships that bring real investment to our community.
Perry County needs leadership at the county level, someone who understands economic development, knows how to secure grants and funding, and has a proven track record of turning vision into reality.
I’m running for Commissioner because I truly believe in the potential of what Marion can become. Marion is rich in history and culture, and has all the makings of being a travel destination —a place where people want to visit, work, live, and raise their families. I feel I have the experience to make it happen while also ensuring the people of Marion are provided an elevated living experience.

It was announced that Atlas Complex by Callan JMB has acquired the 150-acre campus in Marion, Alabama that will support pharmaceutical production, cold-chain logistics, and medical distribution.
What makes this project special is its foundation: a nearly 200-year-old historic campus that is being revitalized and transformed into a modern hub for life sciences and logistics at the former Judson College site.
This initiative is about more than infrastructure. It’s about strengthening the U.S. supply chain, reducing reliance on foreign manufacturing, and creating real economic opportunity — including 250–300 jobs for the Marion community over time.
The Atlas Complex project at the former Judson campus is a testament to what is possible when partners align around a shared vision for Marion and Perry County.
